Our "Grab & Go" phase of reopening has begun.
This phase will include browsing of new material, in-person pickup of reserved material, copier/fax/printer services and notary services. Appointments are required for notary services, so please call prior to your arrival. During this phase you will have a maximum of 15 minutes for your visit.
We will also have a single Chromebook available for internet use only – the Office suite will not be available. Our friends at the Palisades and Orangeburg libraries welcome you to use their Office software, but both request that you make an appointment prior to arriving. Our computer use is first come, first served and will also have time restrictions.
A few rules we will require each of our visitors to adhere to while inside of the building:
1. Face coverings, covering both the mouth and nose, must be worn at all times while inside the library. (If you are medically unable to wear a mask or refuse to wear a mask, we will provide you with parking lot pick up of your requested material)
2. Hand sanitizer must be used upon entering the building.
3. Social distancing of at least 6’ between yourself and staff and other visitors must be practiced.
In accordance with NYS and the CDC, we will be enforcing occupancy limits. Once you have exceeded your 15 minutes you may be asked to leave. Should we reach capacity we will ask that you to wait outside until inside space opens. During this initial phase there will be no public access to the restroom.
Should you arrive to find we are at maximum capacity and cannot or do not want to wait, no problem. Simply knock on the window or call us and we will check out your reserved item and pass it to you through the window.
To keep our patrons and staff safe we are restricting access to certain parts of the building. While you are not able to physically go into certain sections, the entire collection is still available to you. Just let us know what you want and we will retrieve it for you.
We know some of our patrons are still reluctant to come inside, so we will continue with both parking lot pickup and walk-up window service options.
This summer we will be fine free. We do still ask that you return your items in a timely manner so others can enjoy them too. Please remember that all returns must be done in the outside drops. Absolutely no returns will be accepted inside of the building. This will allow us to ensure that all returned items are placed in quarantine before recirculating.
